Hi, my name is Arafa. I am currently 25 years old. Recently I received my Bachelor's degree in Electronics and ICT at the AP University of applied sciences in Antwerp, Belgium. At the moment I'm going for a Master's degree in Electronics and ICT Engineering Technology at the Univeristy of Antwerp.
Always being fascinated and curious about the newest technologies as a child, I took the opportunity to learn about how it is done. When I was 13 years old my father bought me my first laptop just to practice programming. He gave me some old books about Visual Basic and told me to look it all up. And that is basically how my journey in becoming a programmer started. In my high school and University career I followed multiple courses and gained information about different topics on how to create applications, how to manage them making use of the newest technologies, how to maintain them and make use of automation using DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, how to deploy them making use of Azure or Google cloud,..etc. Through this journey I also learned about different software development methodologies like agile scrum, version control, different design patterns, algorithms and data structures,...etc. Below is a list of different programming languages and categories of technologies I have worked with and my level of experience with them.

Worked as an IT consultant on a company specialized in the utility market providing ERP/CRM software solutions to a variety of clients. My tasks varied from development to analysis of different topics.
JUL 2023 - 2 months
Worked as a software engineer on a project with a PHD researcher in the field of engineering. The main goal of the application was to be able to execute statistical analysis on road noise generated by cars on different road types.
SEPT 2022 - Now
Started working as a student/assistant as an AI engineer for a startup company that focuses on burnout prevention and mental welbeing.

Started my Master's degree in the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Electronics and ICT (Engineering).
JUN 2021
Graduated from AP in Electronics and ICT, where I received my Professional Bachelor's degree.
FEB 2021 - Now
For the Immersive lab of AP University I worked many times as a student in helping with doing research on virtual reality based topics or testing new VR equipment. I was also responsible for helping with student that would follow summerschools at the Immersive Lab for learning on how to develop a virtual reality application making use of the Unity Framework.
FEB 2021 - 4 months
During my Bachelor degree I had worked as an intern at Suivo as a full stack web developer, where I had to create an application where I used Angular for the frontend and Spring Boot, Java for the Backend. These were my first months in a real IT related work environment. Again I would like to thank Suivo for accepting me there.

In Carrefour where I still work from time to time, I usually am responsible for the fruits and veggies section.

Graduated from highschool in Industrial ICT - TSO.

As a waiter I also worked for many years at Quinto, which was a food service company that provided waiters for different banquet halls or party rooms.
APR 2017 - 2 months
I worked at VOS logistics for about 2 months as a student, where I had to pack up boxes of pots and pans.
FEB 2017 - 2 months
Again for a short period of time I worked in a restaurant named Roji in Antwerp. Where I helped preparing the dishes.
FEB 2017 - 2 weeks
My first internship experience was at an organisation called Innosec, where I developed 3 basic websites for. These websites were made in Wordpress. This was a nice experience I had during highschool which helped me understanding the principles of web design as a young learner.
JAN 2016 - 1 month
For a short period of time as a student I worked at a bakery helping with baking bread, preparing the dough and decorating cakes.
